Weingut Wiesler

Founded in 1927 when Karl Alfred Wiesler planted the first vines, this Staufen estate is now run by his grandson Michael Wiesler and his wife Kristina. The vineyards are on the steep limestone slopes of the Staufener Schlossberg, a top site in the Markgräflerland region. The winery produces a range of wines including Weißer Burgunder, Grauer Burgunder, Gutedel, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Spätburgunder, and cuvées named Lieschen and Gretchen. They also make sparkling wine (Jahrgangssekt), secco, mulled wine, and fruit and wine distillates. The winery follows gravity-flow processing and slow aging on the lees. Their premium line is called 'Wiesler Edition'. The estate has a tasting room and a seasonal Gutsschänke (tavern).
