Friedrich and Bärbel Ruesch run this organic winery in Buggingen, southern Baden-Württemberg, where the vineyards climb the foothills of the Black Forest. The estate has been certified organic for 30 years and holds Demeter, Ecovin and Naturland labels. Besides wine, the farm grows rye, wheat, soybeans for tofu, Jerusalem artichokes, mustard and clover grass. Livestock includes cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and geese. The winery produces white, rosé and red wines, sparkling wines, fruit brandies and fruit juices. Grapes are hand-harvested; gentle pruning methods are used throughout the vineyard. Visitors can taste all wines in the on-site Weinstube.
