Founded in 1798 in Liedolsheim, the brewery moved to Karlsruhe in 1850 and has been brewing at the historic Hoepfner Burg since 1898. The Burg, a landmark in the city's Oststadt district, still houses the brewing operation. Hoepfner produces a range of beers including Pilsner, Helles, Kräusen, Goldköpfle, Export, and several wheat beers. The company is known for its traditional open fermentation cellar and its Jubelbier, first brewed in 1906. The brewery is privately owned and remains a fixture in Karlsruhe's gastronomy and festival culture.
