Weingut Leopold Schätzle

Founded in 1970 by Leopold and Margarete Schätzle, this family-run winery in Endingen am Kaiserstuhl has grown from one hectare to 15 hectares, nearly all owned. It ranks among Germany's best, with national and international awards. Leopold Schätzle senior received the Federal Cross of Merit for his contributions to the wine industry. Today, three of his children are actively involved. The estate produces well-made wines, notably Burgunder varieties, from the volcanic soils of the Kaiserstuhl region. The winery motto, 'Ex amore et sole vinum' (from love and sun comes wine), reflects its philosophy.
