Founded in 1903, this family-run metalworking company operates from Kressbronn on Lake Constance. It specializes in CNC turning, milling, welding and assembly of components up to 2000 mm diameter and welded structures up to 2 tonnes. The company runs 16 machining centers and holds DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 certification. Its own design department supports customers from prototype to series production. Schmid also produces the PS 100/3 transformer pit system for airport runway lighting, used at airports such as Munich and Berlin-Tegel.
