Founded over 125 years ago by Fritz Hoffmann in Basel, Roche today operates four German sites in Mannheim, Penzberg, Grenzach-Wyhlen and Ludwigsburg. The company researches, develops and produces pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Its portfolio covers personalised medicine, gene therapies, cancer treatments and diagnostic systems. Roche employs about 18,600 people in Germany and supplies more than 9,000 different products daily to countries worldwide.
