Oberbergener Baßgeige

Founded in 1925 (implied by registry), the Oberbergener Baßgeige winery cooperative sits on the Kaiserstuhl volcano massif. Its vineyards include the top-rated Oberbergener Baßgeige and Schelinger Kirchberg sites. The co-op grows mainly Burgunder varieties—Spätburgunder, Grauer Burgunder, Weißer Burgunder—and produces still wines, sekt, and tasting packages. In 1998 it merged with the Schelingen cooperative. The winery practices nature-friendly viticulture on steep terraces and has won gold medals from the Badischer Weinbauverband.
