Founded in 1998 by Josef Haas and Dieter Schomas, the company began as a metal and mechanical engineering shop. In 2000 they built their first folding seat for a harbor crane cabin. Today they produce a full line of folding seats, benches and folding tables under the KLAPPSITZ.de brand. Their products are used in elevators, vehicles, lecture halls, public spaces and drywall installations. The company moved to its own purpose-built facility in Herbolzheim in 2011 and supplies clients such as ThyssenKrupp, Schindler, Dräger Safety, Iveco Magirus and Herrenknecht. All seats are manufactured in-house.
