Founded in 1865 in Freudenberg am Main, the distillery produces fruit brandies, spirits, and liqueurs. Wild cherries for the No.1 Wildkirsch are collected by cone pickers in southern Germany. Williams pears come from South Tyrol, Burgenland, and Styria. The Alte Zwetschge brandy is aged up to five years in chestnut and oak casks. Waldhimbeer is a raspberry spirit made from wild Hungarian berries. The Freudenberger Wildwiesen Cuvée supports a meadow fund. Haselnuss uses Piedmont hazelnuts. The Freud line includes whisky and gin.
