Founded in 1955, Alsachimie operates a 125-hectare site in Chalampé, Alsace. The company manufactures nylon salt and its intermediates, essential for polyamide 6.6 production. With around 690 employees and six production units running 365 days a year, it is a major European producer of polyamide 6.6 intermediates. Since July 2025, it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of BASF. The site holds SEVESO high-threshold status, with rigorous safety and environmental programs. Its products serve the automotive, textile, electronics, and technical plastics sectors.
